Live Lagom - Update 2!
Hello everyone, and Happy New Year!
I finally placed and received my Ikea Live Lagom order!
I had ordered a variety of korken jars, some bevara food clips, pruta food containers, two förtrolig lunch boxes, a satsumas plant ladder, a trådfri dimming kit, an antoinetta blanket, and (through my own pennies) a behållare water bottle for work.
Unfortunately, my övermätt hadn’t arrived yet in time for my pick up, so I’ll write more about that later.
This year I am jumping on the bandwagon and really trying to reduce my food waste and bring my own food to work in order to save money, and so far IT IS WORKING. I leave the behållare water bottle in my bag and have my own mug, and the glass förtrolig tubs are wonderful for leftovers; especially tomato-based food which would stain any normal tub.
Unfortunately, whilst I do not monitor the bills needed to assess the trådfri dimming kit, it has been an absolute dream when I am working very early in the mornings and do not want to blind myself! It has taken a while to remember not to turn the light switch on and off, but I have finally managed not to touch the switch. It was very easy to install with the help of the Koppla bulb converter.
Both the trådfri dimming kit and antoinetta blanket have helped make my bedroom incredibly cosy (see photo where boyfriend refused to move).
As it is still very cold outside and in, I have not yet assembled the satsumas stand as my plants would die, so here is the link for clarification: Satsumas plant stand
Since my order, I had also attended the ‘curry in a hurry’ class at Ikea Norwich with my sister, and it was wonderful. The lovely Becky and crew demonstrated the tillreda induction hob (which my sister owns) and also the värdesätta pressure cooker.
I was incredibly impressed at actually how quickly the food was cooked and how the texture of the food was. Being the noob I am, I have never used a pressure cooker, so it was very exciting.
Similarly, my sister was excited about learning new functions of the tillreda hob. She is currently at university and as all students, wants to save money (for other things like drinking), so when she learned that she had an old, decrepit ceramic hob/oven combo, she was not pleased. The saviour of this problem was two tillreda hob plates for £35 each, which cook incredibly fast, very safe to use and help save her pennies as well as being able to be stored away.
This is the update for now, but as the story continues, and more workshops are attended, I shall update the blog accordingly!
Bye for now!
