Live Lagom 2017

Live Lagom - Day 1

Upon gaining an invitation to the Live Lagom Project for my local store (Norwich), I was excited but also very anxious as I was pretty sure everyone else attending would have their own place to modify and find problems with.

Living at home with my parents presents many positives but also completely restricts the freedom of life.

My set New Year’s Resolution was ‘Stay Cosy and Save Money’. I chose this topic as I was keen to get a running start at running my own household and be able to not spend ridiculous amounts of money on energy, fuel and food we could be using.

I think that the Live Lagom project is important because it shows people how easy it is to save money and live thrifty. Which nowadays is long forgotten, yet relatives and older generations once relied heavily on this.

The group were all very welcoming and offered a great insight into other ideas that people had, problems faced and future problems that I will inevitably face.

A lot of things I wanted to change included more energy efficient/ cosy lightbulbs, better organisation in the kitchen so that less food was wasted, and that food was on better display so we didn’t over-buy!

I would like to believe that my house would be cosy after all the /crap/ decorations that I have accumulated and mountain of comfy pillows and throws. We won’t mention the small jungle of orchids and lovely plants dotted all over the joint.

To try and fulfill my goal I will be piling up barren areas of my bedroom and work area with cosy blankets, warm colour lights, and with a nice cup of (neatly organised) coffee!
However, 6 months down the line I am hoping to feel more balanced and that my overall well-being in a cosy house will pay for itself! If we are able to save money and power, then it will be a magical bonus!!!
